China energy storage net news: fitch's research institutions BMIResearch renewable energy research, according to a report released by India in 2026, India is not renewable energy of water and electricity installed capacity will reach 155 gw, thanks to the rapid growth of the solar and wind power.
"In the coming years, the higher than expected performance of solar installations and wind power in India has adjusted our expectations for renewable energy capacity in India," BMIResearch said in the report.
BMIResearch projects that the installed capacity of non-hydro renewable energy in India will increase from 130 gigawatts to 155 gigawatts by 2026.India is worthy of the title of the world's third-largest renewable energy market, both in terms of installed capacity and growth.
The report also predicts that the average annual growth rate of non-hydro renewable energy capacity will reach 12.7 per cent in 2017-2026.In 2017, India's installed wind capacity is expected to increase to 35.5 gigawatts (gw), up to 68 gigawatts by 2026, a significant improvement from previous forecasts.
Not only that, but the report also raised the forecast for solar installed capacity, which will reach 19.2 gigawatts in 2017 and increase to 71.5 gigawatts by 2026.The previous estimates were 17 gw and 64.7 gw respectively.
It is worth noting that, due to concerns over power distribution bottlenecks and land acquisition, BMI Research has consistently been below the target set by the Indian government.
