Egypt Launches Bids For 250MW Solar Park

China's energy storage network: according to official news, Egypt has launched a bid for a 250 megawatt solar park in the gulf of suez.

The tender has attracted six companies.

The companies' proposals will be reviewed by Egypt's new energy and renewable energy authority.


Egypt's government, electricity and renewable energy have set a renewable energy target of 20 per cent by 2022.

In the second quarter of 2017, Egypt's clean energy investment surged to $805m, according to a report by bloomberg new energy finance.


Recently, Egypt has been trying to diversify its power resources to meet growth needs.

Back in 2014, Egypt adopted a plan to add 4,300 megawatts of wind and solar capacity over the next three years.
