France Plans A Joint Auction Of 200MW Wind Solar Energy

- Nov 20, 2017-

China energy storage net news: French newspaper les echos financial reports, the French government to jointly auction for the first time for wind, solar, think it will help to further reduce the cost of renewable energy technologies.

The auction will open to projects under 18MW.

Prior to that, the French government had already carried out solar and wind auctions in different support schemes.

Xavier Daval, vice-chairman of the French renewable energy association (SER) and President of the solar energy association, believes the launch of the joint auction system will not be conducive to the further development of both technologies.

"If the standard of choice is based solely on price, we don't think that joint auctions are the best solution for large solar and wind power."

He said that different renewable energy technologies are not comparable and should not be opposed in competitive auctions.

France needs more different types of renewable energy.

The French government is currently working on a six-500mw scheme to support solar projects ranging from 250KW to 17MW, and hopes to add 3GW of grid solar power between 2017 and 2019.
