Important Progress Was Made In The Development Of High Power Density Fuel Cell

- Oct 08, 2017-

Vehicle power fuel cell electric pile of key technology in China has not yet been fully breakthrough, longevity and cost also can't meet the demand of automobile market, industrialization and marketization development constraints, is an urgent need to strengthen the new system of fuel cell materials and pile technology collaborative research and development, promote the improvement of the fuel cell electric pile technique to improve, at the same time promoting the formation and development of fuel cell industry chain.

With the support of the key special projects of the state key research and development program "new energy vehicles", the project team of xinyuan power company has made important progress in the development of high power density fuel cell electric reactor technology.

Project team focusing on the vehicle development demand for high performance high power fuel cells, electric reactor, with independent intellectual property rights, proven by commercial application of fuel cell electric pile technology, through the structure and process simulation of guidance to improve electric pile and its key parts design and manufacturing level, to complete the function of type I pile prototype development, electric power density more than 2.0 kW/L, can store and - 20 ℃ to - 30 ℃, and the working condition of car 5 kilometer of durability evaluation, the current pile durability and reliability test is still ongoing, the type of pile is expected in 2018, and can realize commercial application.

At the same time, in view of the higher power density (3.1 kW/L) as the target of II electric pile development work also made significant progress, platinum electrode consumption has been sharply dropped to 0.33 g/kW, and under the condition of no external humidifying electrode power density greater than 1 w/cm2, as planned, this type of pile will be in the commercial application of 2021.

The research results provide theoretical basis and experimental guarantee for further improving the performance of vehicle fuel cell, reducing cost and extending life.
