Japan's NTT Has Developed A Battery That Can Be Returned To The Soil

Japan's NTT company said on Thursday that it has developed a "return to soil battery" made from biomaterials and fertilizer. The company believes that with the arrival of the IoT era, a large number of batteries, such as small sensors, will be difficult to recover and are expected to be in demand.

NTT developed a "return to soil battery" that features no recycling, and batteries can return to the soil without polluting the natural environment.Ordinary batteries use zinc alloys, rare metals and some harmful substances, but new batteries use biological materials.

According to NTT, there was no negative impact on the growth of vegetables after the battery was mixed into the soil. However, the battery capacity is very small, and future research will be carried out to realize practical application.
