JERA Will Participate In The World's Largest Battery Power Generation Project In Australia

According to Japan's kyodo news agency reported on May 30, Tokyo electric power holding company of joint venture with central power JERA 29 announced that will participate in Australia using the world's biggest solar battery power projects.The output power of the battery is 100,000 kilowatts.JERA has entered into basic agreements with two U.S. and Australian companies involved in the project to explore together.

The total amount of the project is about 120 billion yen, and JERA's commitment will be finalized in the future.

JERA focuses on the expansion of the introduction of renewable energy and wants to absorb the knowledge and technology of batteries for power supply adjustment.

According to the plan, the solar power station will operate at three locations around 2019 with a total output of 550,000 kilowatts.

The government is also promoting the introduction of renewable energy as the main source of power in the future, but improving storage technology is said to be a subject.JERA plans to increase the current capacity of about 400,000 kilowatts of renewable energy at home and abroad to 3 gigawatts by 2025.
