Mexican Electricity Bidding Expands Clean Energy Generation Capacity

On May 8, Mexico's department of energy reported that a bid for power projects in the reform of Mexico's energy sector would boost the power generation capacity of clean energy.

It is expected to quadruple its installed capacity by 2020.By 2024, the proportion of clean energy generated in the country will reach 35%.Energy secretary vedder says, global carbon dioxide emissions in the energy sector in 2017 rose 1.4%, while Mexico fell 4% year on year, this is the ink to cut fossil energy, improve energy efficiency and renewable energy efficiency efforts.After several rounds of bidding, the company now has 45 solar and 20 wind power projects under construction, with a total investment of about $8.6 billion.
