Oman Has Set Up The First Domestic Model Solar Energy Independent Power Generation Project

According to the Oman times, the omani government plans to set up the country's first model solar energy independent power generation project, with a capacity of 500 megawatts, and the project will be located in the Ibri area.


According to Oman, electricity and water company CEO OPWP Yaqoob Saif Hamood Al Kiyumi is introduced, the solar energy project enough to meet the demand of the 33000 households, 340000 tons a year and can help reduce carbon dioxide emissions.

It is worth noting that the total investment in the project will be $500 million and will be built, owned and operated by private capital (BOO mode).

OPWP said the company would announce the list of pre-qualification companies and publish the bidding documents at the end of the first quarter of 2018.According to the plan, the bidding results for the solar project will be announced at the end of 2018 and will be put into production in early 2021.
