Royal Dutch shell, the oil and gas giant, has announced plans to build a 20-megawatt solar power plant at a chemical production base in the Netherlands.
Shell expects solar power plants to start construction this year.The project involves installing more than 50,000 solar photovoltaic panels on a piece of land unused in chemical production bases.The panels will be enough to power 7,000 homes.
The project was developed by shell's new energy company.Shell set up a special branch in 2016 to invest in renewable and low-carbon energy projects such as wind power.
