The Dutch Solar Car Can Last Months

- Oct 31, 2017-

According to the daily mail, the electric car market has a rare chance to develop as the world says it will stop selling fuel cars in the future.

A Dutch company is developing a four-wheel-drive solar-powered electric car directly from its charging pile and other infrastructure.

The solar-powered car, named "light years", will be powered by four-wheel drive and can seat four people, the report said.

To improve energy efficiency, designers have reduced the weight of battery packs, body parts and so on.

Depending on the battery pack, the car has a range of 400 to 800 kilometers.

If the weather is clear, the car can go for months without charging.

Even if charged, the sockets on the average family wall can meet charging needs.

Plan for the next one or two months.

The "light years" design will end with a prototype that is expected to be developed next summer and will eventually start production in 2019.

It is expected to sell for 119,000 euros.
