The Research Progress Of Electrolyte Materials For Lithium Sulfide Battery In Dalian

Recently, dalian institute of chemical physics, Chinese academy of sciences, energy storage technology research, zhang hm, Li Xianfeng, containing Zhang Hongzhang team developed a large volume of cationic lithium-sulfur battery electrolyte, and confirmed that it can effectively improve the stability of polysulfide and prolongs the cycle life of lithium sulfur batteries.

Lithium-sulphur battery has the advantages of high energy density, low cost and environmental friendliness. It is one of the research hotspots in the field of international energy storage.However, due to the lithium sulfur batteries are flying shuttle, polysulfide polysulfide lithium lithium disproportionation, the electrolyte decomposition, metallic lithium dendrite pulverization, cause of the short cycle life, it is difficult to meet the needs of large-scale industrialization.Dalian compound are the team aiming at the problem of polysulfide lithium disproportionation, based on "hard and soft acid-base theory", by introducing mass cation in the electrolyte to complexing sulfur ions, effectively improve the polysulfide lithium stability in the electrolyte.The energy of the 5000mAh lithium-sulphur battery device assembled by this electrolyte can reach 300Wh/kg, and the stable circulation is more than 100 times, and the capacity retention rate is about 70%.The work provides new ideas and strategies for improving the cycle life of lithium-sulphur batteries.

The relevant research results are published in Advanced Functional Materials.The research was funded by the national natural science foundation of China, the center for the collaborative innovation of energy materials in the ministry of education and the youth innovation promotion association of the Chinese academy of sciences.
