The World's Largest Battery Hybrid Ship Is Being Built

The Ulstein Verft shipyard, the world's largest battery-hybrid ship, is expected to be operational by July 2019, as it has laid the keel of the "Color Hybrid" passenger ferry for owner Color Line.

The laying of the keel was carried out on April 16 at the Crist shipyard in gdingonia, Poland, marking the start of assembly of the ship's 14 large modules.After completion, the ship's hull is expected to be towed to Norway's Ulsteinvik shipyard for the final installment in October, scheduled for delivery in May 2019.

Color Line has shore power facilities have been installed in many ports in Norway, Oslo, kristiansand, lal vic and SangNe fjord, including SangNe fjord facilities will be used for Color Hybrid battery company.

The 160-meter "Color Hybrid" can carry 2,000 passengers and about 500 cars and will employ all Norwegian crew members.
