Marion believes that electrification, autonomous driving and connected cars, and mobile travel are transforming the entire automotive industry, and will also reshape the relationship of zero and zero. Suppliers should adopt an innovative and open attitude and demand a more suitable zero-zero relationship.
First of all, under the electrification revolution, the technology and information of electric vehicles compared to fuel vehicles are constantly changing, and the technology and content provided by suppliers to electric vehicles is also huge. Marion said that even for a light-mix or micro-electric car, Valeo offers double the content of a conventional car, and up to seven times the complexity of a hybrid or plug-in. Suppliers are providing more and more content, and the responsibilities and services provided are also increasing.
And electrification is not only the powertrain, but the OEM needs to work with the supplier to improve the whole system, and then it is possible to introduce a better electric vehicle. For example, in winter or summer or even extreme weather, 50% of the energy consumption of electric vehicles may be used to heat or cool the cockpit, resulting in wasted energy.
The vehicle thermal management system effectively improves energy efficiency. For example, Valeo cooperates with the OEM to optimize the electric vehicle system, and this year, the introduction of heat pump air conditioning and battery cooling system, introduced into Chinese customers electric vehicles, can effectively avoid energy loss.
Autopilot and connected cars are actually a very complex system. To understand the surrounding environment such as short-distance, long-distance, nighttime or daytime, electric vehicles must rely on various sensors such as cameras, radars, and laser scanners. Supplier-supplied sensors provide a variety of information to autonomous vehicles and feedback to car decisions in a self-driving environment, and with cloud computing support, this will continue to be the key to automakers in the future.
Therefore, as the complexity of cooperation increases, the cooperation between the OEM and the supplier will be deeper and the interaction between the two parties will be more thorough.
In terms of digital mobile travel, new mobile services include driverless, rental, travel services, fleet management, parking services, etc., not just the whole zero, but also new players to join the company, for transportation, Transport enables point-to-point transportation to provide a new, more diverse solution. For example, Valeo launched a strategic cooperation with the US group in January this year to jointly develop unmanned distribution vehicles.
