At present, the cost of wind power in Vietnam is 7.28 cents per kilowatt, which is expected to be 9.94 cents per kilowatt in 2020.Department of trade and industry said that the relevant data according to the global power generation technology trends and prices, as comprehensive consideration of the 23 wind power generation cost, efficiency and two operating power plant operation, comprehensive made this price increase. At present, the two wind power plant power purchase prices are 7.8 dollars per kilowatt and 9.8 cents per kilowatt.

The ministry of industry and trade plans to invest 1,600 us dollars per kilowatt of land wind power, with a power generation capacity of 29 per cent. It is estimated that the annual real cash operation, maintenance and administration costs will be us $20,000 per megawatt. For offshore wind power, $2,100 / kw, power generation capacity is 32%, and annual real cash operation, maintenance and administration costs are expected to be $25,000 / mw.
